Everything in this picture I have found at antique shops or flea markets. So everything has been owned by someone else. Part of the reason I love used books is that, not only do these books tell the stories written on their pages, but they also tell stories of the people who owned them many years ago. Some of these books have passages underlined, things written in the margins, or dates and names penciled in on the cover page. To me, that adds another element of owning and reading books. And that is what I wanted to express in my display.
